PALESTINE EXPECTS FULL SUPPORT OF INDONESIA

    Gaza, 17 Muharram 1434/30 November 2012 (MINA) – Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh has expected the full support of Indonesia for the Palestinian struggle to achieve independence from Israeli colonialism.
   Correspondent of Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) M.Husain in Gaza reported, Friday, PM Haniyeh made the remarks when receivingIndonesian Parliament members, journalists,represetntatives of aid agencies and humanitarian groups from Indonesia at his residence in the district Syaati Camp, Gaza, Thursday (29/11) evening local time.
   The Indonesian parliament members and the entourage were led by Mahfuz Siddiq, chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian Parliament dealing with politics, foreign affairs, defense-security and law affairs. The Indonesian entourage was among the first foreign envoys visited Gaza a week after a cease fire was reached by Palestine and Israel on November 21, 2012.

   The Indonesian parliamentarians visiting Gaza are Mustafa Kamal, Effendi Choirie, Mutia Hafid, Yorris Raweyai (F-PG), Yahya Sacwiria and Muhammad Najib.
   “As the largest Muslim country in the world with its politics, we hope Indonesia to continue to support our efforts to achieve independence,” PM Haniye said to the 40-people delegation from Indonesia.
   To his Indonesian guests, PM Haniyeh said the Palestinians had continued to observe the efforts of the Indonesian people, either through diplomatic channels or demonstrations in various areas of the country, as support for their brethren in Palestine.
   According to him, it makes the Palestinians are not alone in facing the Israeli blockade, and provide motivation and strengthen confidence in the Palestinian struggle to achieve their rights to a sovereign and independent nation.
   “The issue of Palestine is not a problem of the Palestinians alone, but also the problem of the Arabs and all Muslims in the world. Therefore, the victory obtained through an agreed truce, not just the victory won by (Palestinian military in Gaza) Izzuddin Al-Qassam. “It is also a triumph of all Muslimsworldwide, ” PM Haniyeh pointed out.
   PM Haniyeh asserted, this especially when noting the fate and condition of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first qibla of Muslims, all Muslims as brothers share the responsibility to free it from the clutch of Israel.
   On the occasion, Mahfouz Siddiq said the Indonesian Parliament will continue to support the people of Palestine in their struggle to achieve justice and gain independence from the colonialization of Israel. The Indonesian government has also been firm in its diplomatic efforts in this support for Palestine.
   Siddiq said Indonesia’s support to the Palestinian struggle for independence due to the mandate of the Constitution which states that freedom is the right of every nation, and therefore the colonialism should be abolished from the surface of the earth.
   “Moreover, as the largest Muslim community in the world this visit to Gaza is an expression of solidarity and support the people of Indonesia from east to west. The joy is for us to set foot on the blessed land, with a sense of connection, “he said in the presence of PM Haniyeh and his staff.
   On that occasion, the House with seven humanitarian agencies from Indonesia handed over the funds of the Palestinian people of Indonesia worth about 1 million dollars, or about 9.6 billion rupiahs. .
   “TheParliament will urge the Indonesian government to open its embassy representation not only in the West Bank but also in Gaza as well very soon,” said Siddiq, who is a senior politician of the Prosperous and Justice Party (PKS).
   Earlier, the delegation from Indonesiahad been welcomed at the Rafah border crossing by some members of the Palestinian Parliament, Dr Younis Astal, Dr. Younis Abu Diqah and Dr. Yahya Abbatch.
   MINA correspondent in Gaza, Husain, and Sakti Wibowo, the chief representative of Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C), the builder of the Indonesiaan Hospital in Gaza, upon request of the Indonesian embassy in Cairo, had helped paving the way for the arrival of the Indonesian delegation into Gaza.
   Agenda for the group in Gaza, in addition to meeting with Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and Palestinian Parliament in Gaza, includes the visit the families of martyrs of the recent Israeli attack victims at Ash-Shifa Hospital, and inspection the Hospital of Indonesia project in Bayt Lahiya, northern Gaza Strip, Friday afternoon.
