Gaza, 19 Rabiul Akhir 1434/1 March 2013 (MINA) – In a press conference held today at the Government Media Office the Ministry of Women Affairs announced a series of activities to be launched this year aiming to increase the awareness amongst young Palestinian girls of the importance of Jerusalem.
“We are targeting young girls in the preparatory and high schools to try to increase their knowledge about everything to do with Jerusalem, such as the history of the city and even the geography of it, since they have never been there,” said Ameera Haroun, Head of the Women’s Awareness Coalition at the Ministry of Women Affairs.
300 sessions and nine courses about Jerusalem are going to be held in schools, in addition to several advertising campaigns, exhibitions and competitions, she added, according to Aray.ps report received by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA), Friday.
The Women’s Awareness Coalition, run by the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, is a permanent program contributed to by nine governmental ministries: Shari’a Judiciary, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry Of Social Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, and the Government Media Office.
