Al-Quds (Jerusalem), 23 Rabiul Akhir 1434/5 March 2013 (MINA) –  The Aqsa Mosque guards and a crowd of worshipers warded off Monday morning Knesset member and Likud party hardliner Moshe Feiglin and barred him from defiling the sanctity of the Dome of the Rock.

The Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage said the notorious Jewish figure called Moshe Feiglin tried to storm the Dome of the Rock Mosque this morning, but the Palestinians inside forced him to leave, noting that his provocative visit stirred the anger of everyone in the compound of the holy Mosque.

The Aqsa foundation also pointed that it was not the first time Feiglin desecrated the Aqsa Mosque and performed his Talmudic rituals in its courtyard, according to and reports monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA).

It said that Feiglin’s attempt to break into the Dome of the Rock is a dangerous precedent reflecting that the Jewish groups and their leaders went too far in their violations against the Aqsa Mosque.

Feiglin, noted for his extremist views, is one of the prominent preachers calling for destroying the Aqsa Mosque and building the alleged Jewish temple in its place.

Feiglin’s visit comes at a sensitive time in the West Bank after an Israeli officer desecrated the Holy Quran by kicking a copy of the holy Quran with his foot Sunday.

Al-Haram al-Sharif (noble sanctuary), is a crucial place of worship and pilgrimage for Muslims, where there stands a monumental shrine – the Dome of the Rock – and the al-Aqsa Mosque, a site of great importance in Islam.

The Aqsa foundation urged the Arab and Islamic worlds to be more vigilant to Israel’s escalating violations against the Aqsa Mosque and hasten to protect it. (T/P02/E1)
