Gaza, 16 Jumadil Akhir 1434/ 25 April 2013 (MINA) – “Netanyahu’s approval of Sharansky’s plan obliterates the Islamic architecture and identity of the Buraq Wall,” Al-Aqsa institution stated Tuesday.
Al Ra’y Media Agency quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) as reporting early Thursday morning (25/4) that Netanyahu has given the Jewish Agency chief Natan Sharansky approval of moving ahead with his plan to set up a new space for egalitarian prayer services at the Buraq Wall, which Alaqsa institution warned of its grave consequences on Buraq Wall area.
The Buraq Wall is located in the Old City of Jerusalem at the foot of the western side of Al Aqsa Mosque.
The plan called for extending the area designated for prayer at the wall’s northern section to the southern section next to the Mugrabi Bridge, which constitutes Mughrabi Quarter which was demolished by the Israeli government in 1967 and almost of no trace of It was left.
Al -Aqsa institution noted that Netanyahu’s claim of asking Sharansky to devise a plan for resolving the conflict over prayer at the wall, is a stratagem to Judaize the old city.
It called on the Arab and Islamic nation to take immediate steps in order to stop implanting Sharansky’s plan. (T/P06/E1)
