Beirut, 24 Jumadil Akhir 1434/3 May 2013 (MINA) – Secretary-General of the Arab Advocates Union Omar Muhammad Zein says enemy plots against regional countries are planned by Zionist think tanks and funded by some regional Arab states.
During a Thursday meeting (2/5) with Iran’s Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi, Zein noted that Zionist circles and their allies endeavor to create discord among supporters of anti-Israel resistance and their plots are funded and carried out in cooperation with certain Arab states in the region, IRNA reported.
The prominent Lebanese lawyer further hailed Iran’s positions in defending the Palestinian cause, Press TV quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) as reporting..
Although the Zionist regime has perpetrated massive crimes, necessary legal actions have not been so far taken to condemn and address these crimes against humanity, Zein added.
For his part, Roknabadi highlighted Iran’s fundamental policy of supporting the oppressed Palestinian nation, restoring their rights, and ending the Israeli occupation of their lands.
The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon also stressed the need to use all possible capacities in regional and international organizations to condemn and prevent further war crimes and crimes against humanity by the Israeli regime.
More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds in 1967.
The United Nations and most countries regard the Israeli settlements as illegal because the territories were captured by Israel in a war in 1967 and are hence subject to the Geneva Conventions, which forbids construction on occupied lands. (T/P09/E1).
