Jakarta, MINA – The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is socializing governmental regulations on social organizations from foreign countries in an effort to align their activities with the government policy.
The event was opened by Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rayerfas, in Jakarta, Tuesday.
“In their activities, foreign social organizations must be in accordance with the provisions which is set by the government and must be in line with the government policy” said Rayerfas in his speech.
The program is also expected to fill the field of activities that have not been run by the government, so there is no duplication of the program, he said, adding that every program must have official permission.
On that occasion, Mayerfas launched the Directory of Foreign Social Organizations 2017, as an official reference for all parties regarding the existence and role of foreign mass organizations in Indonesia.
He said the directory will record foreign organizations that already have official permission, and it will be updated periodically.
“It is expected that this event can be a contribution of the ministry in spreading a more transparent public participation process to support democratization efforts in Indonesia,” he said. (L/R04/RS4)
