Jakarta, MINA – The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has expressed the hope that in welcoming the New Year 2018 we should do it in a good, simple, and modest way.
The welcoming of the year should be filled with muhasabah (self-evaluation) of what has been done during the previous year, said MUI Vice Chairman Zainut Tauhid Saadi
Good things should be continued for the better and bad things should be left behind, he added.
The complete MUI message as follows:
Firstly, MUI invites all people to conduct self-evaluation in the new year and make 2018 a milestone for designing and living a better, productive, constructive and qualitative future.
“We are reflecting on the changing of the year with full faith, piety and sincerity and always expect the pleasure of Allah SWT in a cool, calm and peaceful mood,” Zainut said here on Saturday (30/12).
In addition, we should pray that in 2018 we can further multiply the quantity of charity or virtue and give the utmost benefit to the nation and state,
Secondly, the MUI invites all national components to develop tolerance and insight into true diversity, creating a harmonious, harmonious, respectful, loving and mutually beneficial nation and state in the spirit of national fraternity (ukhuwah wathaniyyah).
This is according to Zainut done in order to maintain the state security and harmony of the nation, especially in entering the year 2018 as the political year.
Third, MUI invites all Muslims and Indonesians to make the new year 2018 as the year of resurrection in economy and education.
“The aspect is very important and strategic for the progress of Muslims to grow into a quality force, so that its existence is more beneficial to the progress of the nation and state,” he said.
According to him, Islam teaches adherents to be cautious and think of the future. It is according to the word of Allah in the Quran Surah al-Hashr verse 18, which means: “O those who believe in fear Allah and let everyone pay attention to what he has done for tomorrow, and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Seer of what you do. “
Fourth, the MUI appealed in celebrating the New Year’s turn filled with positive and constructive things. It is not forbidden to rejoice in celebrating, but it must be done in a reasonable way, not excessive, wasteful, vain (tabdzir), and we are not carried away in excessive joy in order to distance ourselves from Allah SWT.
Zainut again quotes the Word of God which means: “By the time, indeed man is truly in loss, except those who believe and do righteous deeds and exhort each other to obey the truth and exhort each other in order to fulfill patience.” (Surat al- Ashr : 2-3)
“Essential meaning in parting with the year that will soon fade and welcome the new year with self-reflection is very important,” Zainut said.
