Riyadh, MINA – King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) recently distributed the first batch of 1,000 emergency food baskets to families in the districts of Usaylan and Beihan in the Shabwah governorate of Yemen.

The distribution ceremony was attended by Governor of Shabwah Gen. Ali bin Rashid Al Harthy, Chief Warrant Officer Mohammed Adio, Director General of Usaylan Ali Ahmed Al Hejari and other officials, UNA reported.

Al Hejari highlighted the importance of this emergency food aid to people living in these two districts who are suffering from difficult humanitarian conditions caused by the illegal actions of Houthi militias. He also praised KSrelief for its ongoing commitment to providing humanitarian aid and relief to all the people of Yemen.

Executive Director of the Benevolence Coalition for Humanitarian Relief Eng. Fahmi Mansour said that this intervention is the first of its kind to be provided to crisis-affected and displaced persons in the two districts following the area’s liberation from Houthi control.

He further explained that the aid would alleviate the suffering of the people of Beihan, who have been suffering under the Houthi siege for the past three years.

KSrelief has implemented more than 166 projects in Yemen to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people during the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis there.(R/R04/RS5)
