Jakarta, MINA – The Jakarta Provincial Government is planning to develop a number of halal tourism destinations in the capital city.
The Tourism and Culture Office will coordinate with the Jakarta Food and Drug Administration (LPOM) for the realization of the plan.
Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta Sandiaga Uno said at the location of halal tourism, every item sold must be in compliant with the halal standards issued by Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Indonesian Collaborative Media Platform Kumparan reported.
“The concept is, we want to develop several locations may be related to halal culinary or fashion. Because, for example a destination chosen as a halal destination should provide everything in compliant with the halal principles outlined by MUI,” said Sandi at the Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (1/2).
Sandi explained that Jakarta Provincial Government has not been able to decide which location will be chosen as a place of halal tourism. Sandi said, adding that later the goods sold in the location among other will be culinary and fashion.
“There are some places have been proposed, but it has not been ascertained by the Tourism and Culture Office. The most suitable sectors are culinary as well as clothing or garment or fashion,” he explained.
According to Sandi, the selected location should be easily accessible by the community.”
“The team from the Tourism and Culture Office will choose a suitable location. It may be religious tourism or a halal corner mall,” he concluded. (L/R04/RS5)
